Framing
After conducting a national search for a framing company to compliment the inherent beauty of our photographs, we have selected OC Art and Frame, 1920 Edinger Ave., Santa Ana, CA.
This is a 23 year old company that combines exceptional quality with reasonable prices.
We have selected a basic one and one quarter inch wide satin black frame as pictured above right. Unless you indicate otherwise, we will select an off white single mat or, if you wish, we will select a mat that properly accents the photograph. Mounting and matting materials are the finest preservation quality. Matting material is acid free and lignin free with a 100% virgin alpha cellulose surface. Mat exposure is three inches on each side to present a proper image. Rather than using glass we use Plexiglas.
OC is a full service frame shop so if you want something special let us know and we will put you in direct contact with Ingrid. OC's charges are quite reasonable vs other framing costs we surveyed so we strongly suggest if you want a special frame, work with them. Our goal at WON is to provide you with the most beautiful photograph and a frame that truly compliments our work. We have no problem shipping a rolled photo to Ingrid to complete the job.
Regarding framing for the 8 x 10's and 11 x 14's while we offer this service, very nice, ready made mats and frames are readily available. For this reason we do not recommend this option for these smaller photographs. For the larger photographs we heartily recommend OC for their quality, reasonable cost, professional demeanor and fine workmanship. We use them for all or personal work.
Gicl'ee (pronounced Shee clay)
Gicl'ee is an individually produced, high resolution, high fidelity, high tech reproduction done on a special large format printer. Our gicl'ees are printed on canvas with a wraparound effect on the 3/4 inch frame so the image appears to wrap the frame.
Gicl'ees are superior to traditional lithography in every way. The colors are brighter, last longer and are so high resolution that they are virtually "continuous tone" rather than tiny dots. The range of color is far beyond that of lithography and the details are crisper.
Gicl"ee is a magnificent process and well worth the little time it takes to comprehend. It gives the photograph a whole different and exciting quality and there is none better in creating that very special photo than Titan. For more information contact us.
Custom Work
Other size options may be available or custom cropping can be done. Also we literally have thousands of photos so if there is something in particular you would like to see let us know.
Regarding gicl'ees, there are many options there as well. Photos can be on archival acid free canvas or archival acid free paper.
